PAST: Ben & I met due to my ad stating 'Jane seeks Tarzan'. We talked once on the phone then I unknowingly ran into him at Record Convergence (now closed). He knew who I was as soon as I gave my name & number to the clerk (for a special order). He didn't say anything to me then, but he paged me that night & filled me in. Shortly after that we agreed to officially meet in person. On November 1, 1996 we got Chinese food then I invited him along to go downtown w/Hallee & I. I figured he had a boring time since the club was dead & we sat around pulling down Halloween decorations. I didn't think I'd hear from him again, but he broke all the rules & called the next day. We progressively hung out more & more. I introduced him to the joys of black lights & highlighters so he brought me a big roll of glow tape. We watched odd movies like 'Meet the Feebles', bascially a bunch of 'Muppets' that experience human bodily functions & sexual urges. We roamed the aisles of Walmart & Food Lion at all hours in search of food & amusement. He introduced me to the WEB & email, back then I never imagined I'd have my own webpage. After many months of just 'hanging out', Beth drew up a contract upgrading us to officially dating on July 26, 1997. When I first met him he was playing bass in a band called Positive State they played lots of crazy shows & went on 2 tours across the country. But that ended in summer of '97 when the singer quit.

PRESENT: Ben is currently the drummer of Churner. They have a CD out that you can buy at their shows or just bug Ben directly. He also runs a studio called Nothing but Noise from his basement. Business is really booming, hard core & ska bands drive from local & afar for his high quality/low cost work. He can also be seen drinking pitchers of Dr. Pepper at places like TGI Fridays & Bennigans. Recently Caps games & NHL for Playstation have become obsessions. He loves his Blazer & has the longest driving endurance of anyone I know. He has driven around the country numerous times, most recently w/me out to Arizona in 1998. He's always late, & I don't mean just 10 minutes. He's come up w/dozens of reasons for his tardiness to important places like my house or work: "the computer was on so I figured I'd check my email real quick", "all I did was have a glass of chocolate milk & take a dump", "I started talking to my parents about...", you get the idea. During the work week you can find him at ON-THE-I.COM. You can hear his alter ego Sliphazard between songs 24 hours a day. He is a true MAC guy & has recently purchased a new kick ass G4. Ben has a lot of ideas for his future, I hope I can be of assistance somehow. -Ayla editor & girlfriend.
