For the long July 4th weekend my mom & I journeyed up to Huntingdon, PA. Although not for very festive reasons (my grandfather was in the hospital). Between hospital visits I actually got her to drive around a bit with the results shown below. Lake Raystown was created by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers with 8300 acres of reservior for public recreation. There is an area for swimming at Seven Points. There are loads of camp grounds & places to stay. This is located about 3.5-4 hours from northern VA. Check out one of many sites about this location here:
